Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Russia, with at least two adjacent blank visa pages available for Russian visa stamp(s). Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for Russian visa stamps.

For single and double entry visa requests: one original Russia visa application completed on- line, printed and signed; plus one copy.
For multiple entry requests: two original Russia visa applications completed on-line, printed and signed; plus one copy.
*Important: - You must have the visa invitation information or obtain it from your inviting organization in order to complete the application form.
- You must save the Application ID and remember the security question in case you need to return later to make any changes or corrections to the online application. Please provide this information on your Global Service Order Form comments for us to better assist you.
- When asked to select the location where you will be applying for your visa choose “Visa Application Center ILS (city)”.
IMPORTANT:

Photo Requirements:
One recent 1 3/8 x 1 3/4 inch passport style photograph - head and shoulders, face forward, neutral expression, in color, and with a plain/white background.
Houston: The applicant must not wear glasses in the photo unless the photo in the original passport includes glasses. Photos with glasses must not have glare or reflection in the lenses.

OR - you can upload a passport photo to the Global Service Order Form when you place your order, instead of providing physical passport photos.

Official Invitation from Russia:
Original invitation issued by the Russian Federal Migration Services – OR – if the official Russian visa invitation was submitted directly to the Embassy of Russia or Russian Consulate, provide a record of the telex visa invitation number and date the telex should be received by the Consulate. The original invitation from Russia or telex number is required. Information from the invitation is needed to complete the Russian Visa Application Form. You must have the invitation, or have the information from your host, before you can fill out the new Russia visa application form.

Travisa is able to obtain the official business invitation for you. To request this service, please fill out our Online Russia Business Invitation Request Form. You will receive a confirmation of your request and the inviting Russian organization information for your Russian visa application. You will receive the telex number for your official Russian visa information by email.

Letter Of Invitation from Russia:
An official invitation provided by the host company/organization in Russia.

The letter of invitation must provide specific information, must be signed by an appropriate representative of the inviting organization and must be addressed to the appropriate Russian Consulate.

The Letter of Invitation from Russia must include:
  • be written on the letterhead of the host company
  • be addressed to the appropriate Russian Consulate General
  • a short description of the host company
  • all passport details of the applicant (full name, date of birth, citizenship, gender, passport number, gender, date of issue, date of expiration
  • the applicant's role or position in the host company
  • the category of visa requested, (business or humanitarian), type (multiple three years) and period of stay from dd/mm/yy to dd/mm/yy (example 5 November 2012 to 4 November 2015 )
  • the address where the applicant will stay in the Russian Federation
  • precise details of the purpose of visit
  • intended places/cities to be visited in Russia
  • tax payers number of the host company in Russia
  • signature, dates, contacts, and position of the person that will sign the letter and must include this person's direct phone number

Two copies of official Tourist Voucher and Confirmation issued by a Russian hotel, travel agency or joint venture registered as a tourist company with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A copy of the Voucher and Confirmation should be carried with your passport and Russian visa.

You will receive a confirmation of your request and the inviting Russian Agency name and reference number for your Russian visa application.   • A letter from the university that affirms that the visa will be issued for no more than 90 days, and will not be extended (for a single entry visa).

In accordance with an agreement between the Russian Federation and the United States of America, effective September 9, 2012 US citizens can receive multiple-entry business, homestay/private, humanitarian and tourist visas valid for up to 3 years and allowing a stay of up to 6 months per visit. Requests for this longer validity visa require a written letter of invitation composed by the host, and processing cannot be rushed. (See detailed visa requirements below).

Passport Requirements:
Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Russia, with at least two adjacent blank visa pages available for Russian visa stamp(s). Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for Russian visa stamps.

Russian Visa Application Form:
For single and double entry visa requests: one original Russia visa application completed on- line, printed and signed; plus one copy.
For multiple entry requests: two original Russia visa applications completed on-line, printed and signed; plus one copy.
*Important: - You must have the visa invitation information or obtain it from your inviting organization in order to complete the application form.
- You must save the Application ID and remember the security question in case you need to return later to make any changes or corrections to the online application. Please provide this information on your Global Service Order Form comments for us to better assist you.
- When asked to select the location where you will be applying for your visa choose “Visa Application Center ILS (city)”.
IMPORTANT:

Photo Requirements:
One recent passport type photograph per application, in color, front view and with a plain/white background. Glasses should not be worn in the photo unless the photo in the original passport includes glasses.

Official Invitation from Russia:
If visiting friends or relatives who are Russian citizens, the Russian host must provide an original official invitation. The invitation may be obtained from the local office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or a notarized written letter from the hosting individual, which must include the surname, first name, patronymic, date of birth, citizenship, gender, passport number, address of registration, and address of the actual residence of the hosting individual, as well as the surname, first name, other names, date of birth, citizenship, gender, passport number, number of entries requested, purpose of travel, requested period of entry, location of intended residence of the visa applicant, and the cities to be visited. The host individual could be either a Russian citizen registered on the territory of the Russian Federation or a US citizen who has the permit to stay on the territory of Russian Federation for more than 90 days (i.e. work permit, student visa, diplomatic visa as employee of the USA Embassy or Consulate, etc). If the host is a Russian citizen, a photocopy of the domestic and international passport (if held) must be attached. If the host is not a Russian citizen, a photocopy of the passport and Russian visa must be attached.

Proof Of Departure:
To support rush visa requests submitted in New York, a computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or travel agency or copy of airline tickets is required. All emergency visa requests must be submitted with an itinerary or copy of tickets.

Minors:
For accompanying minor children the Russian visa application form can be completed and signed by a parent. A photocopy of both parents' passport photo page should be attached. In the case where a minor child's Russia visa application is being submitted separately from the parents' Russia visa applications, an original signed letter from at least one parent must be included authorizing the Russian Consulate to issue the Russian visa and explaining who the minor will be traveling with to Russia. Applications submitted in New York must include a photocopy of the minor's birth certificate.

Russia Visa Validity:
Russian visas are issued for single or double entries, according to the official homestay invitation issued in Russia. The Russian visa validity and the number of entries permitted will be according to the dates and number of entries specified on the official Russian visa invitation, at the discretion of the Russian Consulate.

Letter Of Invitation from Russia:
For immediate family members of a Russian citizen, (spouse or minor child, under 18 years of age), traveling together with the Russian citizen, and submitting the Russian visa application through Travisa in Washington DC or Houston; the official homestay invitation can be replaced by a letter from the Russian citizen. The letter must be written by the Russian citizen in Russian and on the correct letterhead, addressed to the appropriate Russian Consulate and must include the following information: who applicant will be traveling with (relationship, first and last name); where they will be traveling (city); where they will be staying in Russia (full address); how long applicant will stay in Russia (cannot exceed 90 days).
In addition, the following items must be submitted:
Washington DC
- A copy of the information page of the valid international Russian passport of the inviting person.
- Copy of the Green Card or US passport of the inviting person.
- Original and one additional copy of the passport of the applicant.
- Proof of the relationship to the Russian citizen (copy of the marriage certificate or birth certificate).
- For a minor child, a photocopy of the information page of both parents' passports.
- Copy of the round trip flight itinerary, showing entry and departure date from Russia.
- Invitation letter on Washington DC Consulate Letterhead.
Houston
- The original, valid international Russian passport of the inviting person.
- Original and one additional copy of the passport of the applicant.
